Web statistics analysis: Exit pages

Analysis of top 10 exit pages

Methodology used:

The top 10 Exit pages over a 12 month period have been listed in order of most traffic to determine on which pages visitors exit the site.

Interpretation:

42% Of visitors entered the site via the Video page. 34% Of visitors left the site via the video page. In theory this means that the client retained 8% of traffic through this specific page. In total 12, 326 visitors visited the site. 1,329 of these visitors definitely watched the movie clip (KB down loaded).

Visiting rate to the movie clip page: 10.78%. The only reason for this could be that people entered the site via another page, most likely surfing and watched the movie clip before they left. This is definitely possible taken into consideration this site's International search engine positioning and visits to the home page. It resulted in a total of 2,78% difference between theory (8% of visitors watching the clip) and the statistical proof (10.78% of total traffic that watched the clip KB down loaded.)

Action taken:

We altered the navigation of the site and added a segment to the video clip page accommodating special offers. Banners were also linked to the movie clip page (vs the index page) as the video captured the visitors' attention.

An increase in visitors inquiring about the special offer occurred as a result.
