This portfolio is a collection and demonstration of the skills, knowledge, and projects I work on.

My story:
\u2022 My story started out when I qualified as a Microbiologist working in laboratories- these were closed down (SABS) and sold (Avimune) and I was retrenched.

In 1994, I took a gap year and trained for the SA National Triathlon Championship, where I placed 4th in the senior female category. I battled with an injury and started working as a representative in 1995.

1996:
a Dutch company called Intervet SA headhunted me and I joined them as product manager to be promoted to National Sales Manager. In 1998, I decided to fly solo and registered my company in 2001. Google Analytics did not exist at that point in time. We used Web stats to interpret results and grew with Google after it was established in 1998.

One of my first projects was an expedition that traveled from South Africa to London for the Land Rover’s 50th anniversary. I consulted for a satellite communication company (Station Africa Telecoms) at that point in time, and we tracked the vehicles online, hand-coding and plotting their progress.

Following that success, Cathy O\u2019Dowd and Camel Trophy were just some of the companies that approached us for satellite communication during their events.
Station Africa Telecoms relocated to the Seychelles where they had to employ locals and I landed a contract with The GOSCOR Group of Companies. I developed and marketed 7 division websites for the company from 2002-to 2010.

Fast-forward 12 years, several projects later, and I am a member of the team that changed the way medical conferencing is done during the 2021 lockdown. We took the Skin Cancer Foundation of South Africa<\/a> conferences and focus sessions online (Virtual conferencing) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. My role was to develop the website, do SEO, create online press releases and content. We also implemented a unique and customized way for sponsors to benefit from the event. The 2022 event is already in the planning phase, scheduled for June 2022. Once again, it is project-based allowing me sufficient time to work on other part-time projects.

I was also part of the team that assisted Glenmark Pharmaceuticals to launch a product online, and we used Google Tag Manager to track activity, to provide the client with an ROI report.

November 2017 \u2013 May 2018 I fulfilled the role of Senior Content writer at the City of Cape Town on contract in the Directorate of the Mayor, Department Integrated Strategic Communications, Branding and Marketing where we managed all content on the City of Cape Town Website and I acted as the content lead for several projects.

During the period September 2017 – April 2018 I conceptualized, established, launched, and built a Facebook profile for an Adventure Park to reach a total of 33.6K followers by January 2018, with some posts reaching up to 140K. (Average post-reach 14,000 to 15,000\/week). The owners confirmed that they turned over 6 million South African rands in ticket sales to park visitors between September and April 2018.
